Frequently Asked Questions
Edge Heavy Logistics FAQs
Edge Heavy Logistics is now part of Colpak Logistics. If you’ve worked with Edge Heavy Haulage before, here’s what the change means for your next job, from quoting and booking to who turns up on site.
Is Edge Heavy Logistics still operating?
Edge Heavy Logistics is part of the Colpak Group of Companies. All Edge enquiries, quotes and bookings are now handled by Colpak Logistics, a family-owned Queensland heavy haulage company that has been moving Australia since 2004.
Why has the Edge website changed?
We’ve brought everything under one name so customers have one website, one phone number and one team to deal with. Old Edge web pages now point straight to the Colpak site, so any saved links and bookmarks will still get you to the right place.
Has the phone number or address changed?
No. You can still call (07) 3200 2222 or visit our depot at 26–32 Beal St, Meadowbrook QLD 4131. They’re the same contact details Edge customers already know.
What services does Colpak offer former Edge customers?
Colpak covers heavy haulage, oversize and overmass loads, mining and earthmoving machinery, project and infrastructure cargo, general and priority freight, and secure hard-stand storage at our Meadowbrook depot.
We also have larger, longer-term storage capabilities in Murarrie and a depot in Townsville.
Do you still offer crane hire?
Yes. We can arrange crane hire on request through our network, with experienced operators and riggers. We also transport cranes, telehandlers and lifting equipment, and can recommend a crane partner.
What’s the heaviest load you can move?
Our fleet handles loads up to 140 tonnes, using low loaders, widening drop decks and extendable trailers. For project cargo beyond that, talk to us and we’ll plan the move case by case.
Where do you operate?
We’re based in Logan, between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, with depots across Queensland. We run jobs right across Queensland, NSW, Victoria and the rest of Australia, including runs from Brisbane to North Queensland, NSW, Melbourne, South Australia, WA and the Northern Territory.
Will the way my job is planned change?
Only for the better.
Every heavy move still starts with a scope and route check, then trailer selection, permits, escorts and a load restraint plan. Our vehicles are GPS-tracked with digital transport logs, and a supervisor is on call 24/7 until your load is set down.
You’ve also got a full team behind you. Colpak has been established for over 20 years.
How does Colpak manage safety and compliance?
Every job runs under a documented risk management system with full Chain of Responsibility compliance. That covers fatigue management, load restraint, drug and alcohol testing, and hazard and near-miss reporting.
